Fluid mechanics is a science of applied mechanics which concerns the behavior of liquids and gases at rest or in motion. This branch of the mechanics encompasses a variety of problems ranging from the study of blood flow
in deformable capillaries (blood vessels with a diameter of a few microns)to the flow of crude oil in pipes of the order of one meter in diameter with
lengths of up to 13,000 km. The principles of fluid mechanics are necessary to explain why planes fly and what the ideal wing profile is to have the most efficient flight possible in terms of kerosene costs and speed of plane while golf balls with asperities are used to launch the ball further thanks to the late separation of the boundary layer in the case of turbulent flow.
