Stylistics is one of language based approaches for the study of both literary and non-literary texts. Through teaching stylistics, we aim to develop the students' mastery of the language in general; equip the students with adequate tools and procedures for investigating meaning in texts; and thus, sharpen their understanding and appreciation of literary texts in particular.

            In these courses we will focus comprehensively on defining the concept of stylistics. Followed by an elaboration of the most important types of stylistics that are commonly used, namely, Linguistic Stylistics, Literary Stylistics and Pragmatic Stylistics.

             The courses are furnished with sufficient examples for illustration in addition to practical exercises in order to enhance the students' mastery of the tools and concepts of stylistics.
