Course  Summary:

This course focuses on the nature of the process of policy design and decision making in such an integral part of most state tasks, Through the use of qualitative and analytical research methods, and their application to primary and secondary data sources.
There will also be an emphasis on students’ cognitive understanding and comprehension, which is enhanced by examining some reference cases in the world of public policy.

The Topic of policy design and decision-making is included under the broad heading of public policies based on the development of an appropriate design that extend to all aspects of planning and implementing any program for the exercise of public authority.

It is also worth noting that policy shaping and decision-making in itself is a very broad subject and is related to all areas of administration, governance and management, including all aspects of political, economic, social and environmental activity within the territory of the state.

The nature of the public policy-making process and the analysis of how the government solves society's problems and provides for its requirements represent one of the aspects that constitute an extension of public authority to all aspects of people's lives and activities, and these are activities closely related to decision-making.

 Policies are plans, courses of action, or procedures that aim to influence decisions.

 As such, they form part of the decision-making context, and often provide guidelines. But decision-making is also part of policy-making, and there is a dynamic relationship between decision-making and policy-making.
